Dactari by the Chiemsee Lake combines wheat and wine alcohol to create three mild yet highly concentrated spirits – allusions to the popular TV series from the Sixties are completely deliberate.
The name Dactari stands for a deep relationship between nature and environment. In African Swaheli “Daktari” means “animal doctor”. Since the end of 2013 three remarkable spirits are being produced in beautiful Prien by the Chiemsee Lake. The bottles are adorned with detailed 19th century animal illustrations and are filled with the gin spirit “I dream of GINi” as well as the vodka “All about Woody”. There is also the manufactory´s newest creation “The story of Kakato”, a German Cacao Spirit. Dactari founders Anna Stilper and Tim Hippmann are especially proud of this chocolaty cocoa spirit. While drinking it exotic parts of the world filled with poetry and adventure come to mind. The cockatoo in elegant evening wear placed on the bottle is representative and guide to these untrodden parts of the world.
But this isn’t all there is. The company also supports nature and social projects in Africa with their partnership with the organization “Veterinarians without limits”. That their products have the highest quality standards is a given. The use of wine distillation gives both spirits a mild sweetness with partly floral aromas. The cocoa spirit surprises with its distinctive note of chocolate and its smooth finish despite is high alcohol content.
Alongside their social engagement, the packaging is also environmentally conscious. Plastic is used very rarely. Production takes place in small amounts and in cooperation with select manufacturers from the region.
