Innovative products from a traditional background – this is what defines the Steinfurter “Destillerie Dwersteg”. From a triad of biological and fair-trade ingredients, traditional craftsmanship, and well established family recipes, the manufacturer creates outstanding liqueurs and spirits.
Citrus fruits are peeled by hand, fine essences and aromas are brought out through the maceration process. The central idea of the manufacturer throughout: the harmonious connection of culinary delight with a sustainable creation process. This approach has been rewarded on numerous occasions. The high quality distillates have been prized for their successful combination of ecological quality and fair, innovative orientation. Heart of production is their “Rosebud Liqueur Damascena”, made of rose oil and selected exotic spices – this elegant combination being the first of its kind worldwide. The Barcelona-based artist Federico Bencini translated the distinctive flavour into a fresco-like rose motif which adorns the tastefully shaped bottle.
“Destillerie Dwersteg” was founded in 1882 by Ludwig Dwersteg Jr. in order to produce liqueurs and spirits. Over 30 years ago, Ludger Teriete together with his wife took over the business from his uncle and led the manufacturer onto a new innovative path without losing sight of the traditions it was built upon. Since the mid-90s, the manufacturer – still located at its origin – has been using exclusively organic and fair trade ingredients. Since then, the hand-made products have made their way into the high-end, quality-oriented cocktail bars and restaurants across Germany and Europe. Even overseas the manufacturer counts as a guarantor for exquisite, flavourful and authentic liqueurs and spirits.
