Idyllic in the Brandenburg Templin-Densow lies the Annenwalde glassworks: on the grounds of the former manor house of Annenwalde, artist Werner Kothe created a small art paradise for himself and his visitors in 2004. With a sculpture park, the Annenwalde glassworks is a center for art, a training center and the studio of the artist under one roof.
The artist specializes in fusing glass, a technique in which glass of different colors and shapes is combined in a special kiln (fusing furnace) at about 800 ° C.
In his portfolio, the artist offers a small series of everyday objects made of glass, such as plates, bowls and candlesticks. With customer requests, he also designs and produces one of a kind works such as sundials made entirely out of glass. Kothe’s works of art are exhibited in the courtyard of the Annenwalde house. He also designs for residential and commercial buildings as commissioned work by private customers as well as by the public sector.
Built in the 18th century, Annenwalde glassworks is a cultural center hosting various exhibitions and events – walks through the vineyard, the sculpture park and along the literature trail with poems of the poet Erna Taege-Röhnisch.
A visit to the Annenwalde glassworks becomes a trip for the body, mind and soul.
