Hayo Gebauer is a German industrial designer whose works reflect on the mundane object. A quirky fascination for order or subtle references to known archetypes are among the shape defining details.
Hayo Gebauer lives and creates in Berlin. He is constantly working on the production of new prototypes and is currently developing his first contract furniture in collaboration with Esaila. He grew up in northern Germany near the Baltic Sea in the house of an architect and an artist and was thus in contact with design from an early age. His works are rooted in the classic German Bauhaus tradition, which he supplemented with the progressiveness of Dutch design after studying at the Design Academy Eindhoven. At his graduation in 2016, he was named by Dezeen as one of the top graduates of his year and was selected in their Hot List. He is currently also a jury member of the EPDA Awards.
