With her extraordinary creations, the jewellery designer Maren Giloy strives to bring smiles: ironically she plays with traditions and deliberately undermines expectations.
The town of Idar-Oberstein, with its more than 500 years of history of gemstone processing, lured Maren Giloy into beginning of her career. After her apprenticeship as a diamond and gemstone expert, Maren Giloy completed a goldsmith’s apprenticeship and the master’s examination while simultaneously completing an apprenticeship as a design student. The cosmopolitan town located in Rhineland-Palatinate has become the designer’s home of choice. In her studio, she creates new designs and models for her own jewellery brand “Klotz & Klunker” and organizes exhibitions worldwide. The contemporary jewellry has already been awarded several times.
