With high esteem for its own history, a constant drive to innovation and a creative play with different styles of world history, the LMW-Leuchten Manufacture Wurzen GmbH in Saxony creates unique luminaires, which last for a life time.

The history of origins of luminaires are deeply rooted in the progressing of electricity and gas lighting in Germany. Already in the 19th century, K.A. Seyffert founded in Wurzen, which still is the location for the production of lights, a Bronze Ware Factory, which met the continuously growing demand for electronic lights. The Reichstags building in Berlin, the District Court in Leipzig and the Hotel Astoria in St Petersburg were all crowned by his luminaires.

Today the manufactory still attaches great importance to the preservation of century-old, traditional techniques and to create with great skills and in elaborate handwork items of the highest standards and quality. The best evidence for that are the modern milestones of the manufactory like the extravaganzas of Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam, the Church of Thomas in Leipzig and the Semper Opera in Dresden.

Handiwork, creativity and the love to their handicraft is what connects decorative metalworkers, lathe operators, polishers, painters and blacksmiths who work together to create masterworks like the fine filigree work of the Trianon-luminaire or the playful luminaire Yan Li, that immediately evokes wanderlust  – all that with people in mind who understand the unique character and the value of beautiful things.
