Restrained, clear and light in appearance: like paper, linea1 folds steel sheets into functional furniture and utilitarian objects. The choice of white emphasizes the reduction to essentials.
Since 2005, solid, long-lasting pieces have been produced in Berlin with the utmost craftsman like precision. Their unobtrusive, timeless design has been created to accompany their owners for decades. How an object fulfills its task and comments on it is a central idea in the development of linea1 products. The steel sheets are bent from a surface to a body. At the same time, the resulting three-dimensional objects do not deceive massiveness, but instead deal with the dialogue between surface and volume. The process of creation and the two-dimensional origin of the objects remain recognizable: the shelves, for example, consist of a single piece of steel sheet with edges broken by joints. All designs are consistent down to the last detail and follow principles of economics in a formal-aesthetic as well as in a technical sense.
