MASSIFCENTRAL

MASSIFCENTRAL – elemental lighting – is the brand name and the epitome of a new generation of decorative lamps and lights, either as scenography in an architectonic context or als classical lighting.

These fascinating lamps consist of a mixture of natural and solid mineral glass, and depending on the colour of light, become reminiscent of bubbling water or sparkling champagne – a characteristic that has become the manufacturer’s trademark. The combination of mineral glass with modern LED diffuser technology creates a homogeneous, non-reflective and dimmable light, suitable to meet any requirement. Working with interior designers, architects and lighting planners, this manufacturer produces high quality, hand-made and unique pieces, custom made according to the individual customer’s wishes, appropriate for any space or room.

Christian Seltmann, a fourth generation descendant of Upper Franconian porcelain makers, was always interested in the ensemble of glass and light. After numerous experiments and valuable experiences in a glassworks, he founded his own company in Mallorca in 2009, together with his wife Tania Theler Seltmann. The manufacturer has been based in Berlin since 2013 and brings both tradition and experience of over 100 years of porcelain making together with his interdisciplinary knowledge in lighting. As a teenager, Christian began fiddling about with furniture and lamps. He studied architecture and business studies, his brother Philipp, who joined the company in 2011, studied materials science and ceramics. The label MASSFICENTRAL (originally “labo crème brûlée”) was the logical consequence. Quality, reliability and timeless design as well as profound knowledge in glass, material technology and electronics bring valuable, distinctive and exclusive luxury lighting products into being.
