Megalomania is a sustainable design label made from organic materials and leftovers. At the center, as the name implies, is a “positive delusion about design” and the big question of how fair, healthy and individual products can contribute to a better world.
The label was founded in 2015 by the designer Sophie von Gebhardi in Leipzig. The bag collection Sack & Pack is inspired by a time when things were still transported in baskets or sacks of organic materials. The handmade shoulder bags and backpacks are vegan, compostable and completely water resistant and were nominated for the Green Product Award in 2017. The Take a Walk and Trash collections play with plant materials and supposedly outdated objects that are transformed into individual designs and products.
