Studio Ziben is a collection of ideas. It is not a guideline for an interior design program. The pieces of furniture of the Berlin design brand founded in 2009 are full of humor, timeless and refreshing.
Mariusz Malecki, designer and owner of Studio Ziben, was born in Poland. His childhood and youth were dominated by the socialist design of the Eastern Block. During his studies, he began to create his own designs and work for the Polish furniture industry and later in 2007 he moved to Berlin to build his own brand.
The furniture ideas grow from above all personal associations and pictures. One can find an old wine box converted into a side table, a highboard cut through the middle, a colourful bar stool and a vitrine with an old window as a door.
Mariusz Malecki has proved more than once that opposites attract and can complement each other in their own special way. Recycling plays a big role in the development of Studio Ziben furniture. Freedom, free thought and spontaneity unite to either showcase or else provide an antithesis to functionality, aesthetics and timelessness in the search for pleasure.
