The “Weissbrand® Distilling Company” sets new standards in high quality spirits. The traditional German spirits sector is characterized by fixed conventions. The “Weissbrand® Distilling Co.” therefore thinks ahead and goes without normative manufacturing principles. Its self-confident goal: a completely new spirit class – the so-called Weissbrand®.
The Weissbrand® is made from high-quality wines but is anything but a classic wine brandy, which receives its aroma profile mainly through storage in the wooden barrel. Made from selected, first-class basic wines – ten liters of drinking wine bring one liter of spirits – the distillates are refined with natural herbal ingredients such as regional fruits and exotic spices in organic quality. This creates the fascinating variety of aromas of the glass-clear distillates. The final storage in vented stainless steel barrels preserves the color and the unique multi-layered aroma of the Weissbrand®.
The spirits are produced at traditionally rich wine and spirits locations in the Palatinate Bad Dürkheim and in Schwechow, between Hamburg and Berlin. There they are handmade and finely composed of high-quality German wines and carefully selected botanicals from all over the world. What Wolfgang Fichtl began to do in the 1990s, his sons Julian and Lukas Fichtl, together with Lupo Porschen and Basti Fischer, turned into the manufactory “Weissbrand® Distilling Co.” in 2014.
