NRW.INVEST Russia/St. Petersburg and Direktorenhaus Berlin invite you to “North Rhine-Westphalia Day” at the “Handmade in Germany” exhibition in St. Petersburg.
On Wednesday, the 24th of September 2014 the “North Rhine-Westphalia Day” will take place at Saint Peter’s Church on Nevsky Prospect, the exhibition grounds of “Handmade in Germany”.
North Rhine-Westphalia: That is diversity, inventiveness, economic power and civic engagement. North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) is the most populous of the German federal states. It has developed from an mining and industrial region into a technology and service location. Today NRW has the richest network of science and research facilities in Europe and is one of the most distinguished cultural regions in the world.
The cultural landscape of North Rhine-Westphalia is unique. It is not concentrated on one or a few metropolises. It is polycentric, diverse, multicultural and close to the people. Many talented young people and world-class artists are living and working here. Cultural and creative products and services are high in demand in NRW. The creative sector is an important economic factor and initiator for the whole business in NRW. More than 310,000 people in around 50,000 companies are creatives in NRW. They generate new ideas, synergies and impulses also for other business sectors.
After the opening remarks by Mrs. Tatjana Schwarzkopf, Head of NRW.INVEST Russia/St. Petersburg and by Pascal Johanssen, curator of the “Handmade in Germany” exhibition, we invite you to a cocktail with delicacies from North Rhine-Westphalia.
Direktorenhaus Berlin/Handmade in Germany World Tour: Curated by Pascal Johanssen and Katja Kleiss of Direktorenhaus Berlin, this international touring exhibition will span several years and continents to show a concentrated collection of German quality production: design objects and manufacturing products, all hand-made in Germany.
The state-owned economic development agency NRW.INVEST is marketing North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany’s No. 1 investment location, since 1960. On the 2nd October 2012, NRW.INVEST opened its St. Petersburg branch, in order to promote North Rhine-Westphalia as a investment opportunity for Russia.
